Six disparate souls are sent on a secret government mission to make propaganda porn films for the boys on the front.
In the summer of 1943, a small, disparate group of people is sent on a top-secret government mission to a remote beach in the Orkney Islands. Their assignment is to produce morale-boosting, pornographic propaganda films for Allied soldiers fighting on the front lines before the invasion of France. The crew includes munitions-machinist-turned-aspiring actress Holly (Natalie Quarry), young soldier Corporal Evans (Jack Bandeira), Jewish German film director Max Meyer (Ben Bela Böhm), Etonian Ministry of Information officer Captain Anthony Clune (John McCrea), aging, alcoholic hair-and-makeup artist Agnes (Ronni Ancona) and innocent young crew member Clifford (Ollie Maddigan). As they struggle with their consciences, this darkly comedic period piece explores how war and state bureaucracy exploit and warp the lives of ordinary people.
