Le Roman de Jim
A family living in the Jura mountains is torn apart following the return of the son's biological father.
When Aymeric (Karim Leklou) runs into a former co-worker Florence (Laetitia Dosch) one evening in Saint-Claude in the Haut-Jura, she is six months pregnant and single. As she gives birth to Jim, Aymeric is there. They pass several happy years together until Christophe (Bertrand Belin), Jim’s biological father, appears out of the blue. It could be the start of a melodrama; but it is also the start of an odyssey into fatherhood. This is a touching melodrama of fatherhood that depicts a relentlessly nice guy who somehow walks wide-eyed into an emotional catastrophe. This is an intensely French film in its geographical, societal and culinary landscapes, it will appeal to viewers who are looking for a bittersweet comedic drama.
