Following its recent 25-minute standing ovation at the Venice Film festival, we bring you this startling Jonathan Glazer-produced documentary focussed on policies of the Israeli Defence Forces (IDF) in Gaza.
The film takes its title from an Israeli military term for expected 'collateral casualties' and is built around testimony from 24 anonymous intelligence officers and soldiers involved in the war. Filmed at night from Tel Aviv rooftops, this investigative documentary lays bare Israel's military operations in Gaza and the systems behind targeted killings of Palestinians. ‘Naza’ puts together a restrained, intelligent, articulate, precise and utterly damning case against Israel’s actions in Gaza and their ongoing actions through the region. “As a work of cinema, it is exemplary. As a work of journalism, it is inarguable. As a document, it is an indictment” – Time Out. (Subtitles)
