In the ruins of a Roman amphitheatre in the South of France, the cast and crew of an ambitious staging of ‘The Marriage of Figaro’ is thrown off balance when troubling accusations threaten to derail the entire production.
As tensions intensify, loyalties slowly fracture and deep generational disagreement emerges, throwing their sheltered opera world into a great divide. Agnès Jaoui deftly navigates this tricky territory, addressing the subject of ‘MeToo’ without becoming too submerged in politicising.
