Two farmers with very different intentions for their respective neighbouring farms lock pitchforks in this very British and highly amusing documentary
The debate around intensive farming and wild spaces in Britain is effectively encapsulated by the friction on neighbouring Devon farms. Filmmaker James Dawson captures gentle feuding, English-style, between second generation intensive dairy and beef farmer Derek Banbury and his 400-acre farm and former sheep farmer turned rebellious Scottish conservationist Derek Gow who is rewilding his 300 acres, introducing wildlife such as beavers, storks and wild boar to restore natural habitats. Their differences are expressed more by eye-rolling and humorous takedowns than shouting and tractors at dawn in this engagingly eccentric, and very crowd-pleasing documentary.
