Grappling with his past after a life of crime and murder, Robin Hood (Hugh Jackman) finds himself gravely injured after a battle he thought would be his last. The leader of the Merry Men (including Bill Skarsgård as Little John) helped build a legend of ‘taking from the rich and giving to the poor’. Now he tells anyone who believes it that it was fake news. In the hands of a mysterious woman, Sister Brigid (Jodie Comer), he is offered a chance at salvation. Sarnoski’s (‘A Quiet Place: Day One’) film contains meticulously crafted costumes, a beautiful and haunting score, continuously stunning cinematography, and Jackman turns out to be the perfect embodiment of this taciturn, troubled protagonist.
