In our most recent Redford offering of this tribute, we present a story based on the real-life Forrest Tucker (Robert Redford). From his audacious escape from San Quentin at the age of 70 to an unprecedented string of heists that confounded authorities and enchanted the public.
Wrapped up in the pursuit are detective John Hunt (Casey Affleck), who becomes captivated with Forrest's commitment to his craft, and a woman (Sissy Spacek), who loves him in spite of his chosen profession. Like Redford, Spacek is still radiant onscreen, and these two legends - who, unbelievably, have never appeared together in a film before - have wonderful chemistry. Almost 60 years after Robert Redford started his acting career in a TV Western called ‘Maverick’ in 1960, he performed his swansong here with his final film as an actor. With the skill, or luck, of having a beautifully matched cast, this film serves as a fitting farewell to a legend.
