Ernesto Guevara de la Serna, popularly known as Che, along with his friend Alberto Granado, decides to take a road trip across South America. His experiences on the journey transform him.
On a break before his last semester of medical school, Ernesto "Che" Guevara (Gael García Bernal) travels with his friend Alberto (Rodrigo de la Serna) from Brazil to Peru by motorcycle. The two men soon witness the great disparities in South America, encountering poor peasants and observing the exploitation of labour by wealthy industrialists. When they reach a leper colony in Peru, Ernesto's values have changed so much that he sides with the sufferers, forgetting his own comfort and building the foundation for what was to come in his extraordinary life. You will get so caught up in the beauty of the images and lost in the weathered faces found along the way, you may quite forget that you are traveling with Che Guevara. This is a soulful and reflective epic of a road movie blessed by great chemistry between the two leads. (Subtitles)
