Winner of the 2025 Crystal Globe (Best Film) at the prestigious Karlovy Vary Film Festival in Prague, this is a fantastical, hybrid-documentary about a pair of Czech twins who live off grid in the Bohemian forest.
Twin brothers Franta and Ondra share everything in the Sumava Mountains. They live a secluded, poetic and sometimes absurd life in an abandoned mountain farm, sharing everything from tending animals to philosophizing and bickering. Though identical, their souls differ - Franta seeks freedom while Ondra needs routine. It seems that they’ve never grown up, and viewed through the lens of so-called civilisation, their world shows signs of absurdity. Soon, their unbreakable bond will face the ultimate test. This is an anarchic spin on creating one's own 'wellness culture', as well as a wonderfully funny portrait of fraternal love and a sideways look at our place in society/nature. Tragically, subject František Klišík passed away at 62 just hours after the film's victory at Karlovy Vary, making the documentary a poignant swan song. (Subtitles)
