Kansas City meteorologist Margaret Fairchild (Emily Blunt) causes a global panic when she unexpectedly begins speaking in an alien language live on television. In steps cybersecurity expert Daniel Kellner (Josh O'Connor) who has figured out how to translate the alien transmissions. Believing that the truth belongs to humanity, he decides to orchestrate "Disclosure Day" - a simultaneous, worldwide reveal of the extraterrestrial secret. A sinister corporate and government authority figure Noah Scanlon (Colin Firth) stands in their way, arguing that revealing the truth will completely upend established global order. Steven Spielberg, one of the industry’s most successful and influential filmmakers, has produced another outstanding film to add to his canon, a really exciting, fast-paced thriller balanced with a strong emotional core.
