A prison guard moves to Corsica where she joins the staff of a prison that's not quite like any other. She befriends a young influential inmate, but once released, he gets back in touch with her for a favour.
Transferred to Corsica, seasoned prison warden Melissa (Hafsia Herzi) finds that the incredibly relaxed atmosphere of her workplace contrasts sharply with the aggressive inhabitants of the neighbourhood where she now lives with her partner Djibril (Moussa Mansaly) and their two very young children. Saveriu (Louis Memmi) - a likeable prisoner who Melissa had previously crossed paths with on the continent - helps solve some of her problems, but nothing comes for free, and Melissa soon finds herself on a slippery slope towards the mob. The perfect blend of prison film, detective movie, portrait of a woman and a deep dive into Corsican society, Stéphane Demoustier delivers an excellent feature film carried by the brilliant Herzi. ‘The best prison film since Jacques Audiard’s ‘A Prophet’ (2009)’.
