This showjumping documentary explores the unique relationship between horse and athlete, and the highs and lows endured by a sporting hero.
The son of a chemist, Champion showjumper Nick Skelton rode his first pony at the tender age of just 18 months on his pony Oxo. In 2000 Skelton broke his neck in a bad fall; two years later, he was back in the saddle, and grabbing the reins once again, winning Olympic gold twice, first in London in 2012, then aged 58, at Rio in 2016 (with a replacement hip), becoming the oldest British winner of an individual Olympic gold medal in more than 100 years. This documentary shows him embracing all things equestrian from an early age, leaping across fences as a youth and putting in the hard graft of mucking out the stables, and caring for the horses. This is a must for horse lovers and budding showjumpers.
