Doubting that convicted burglar Michel (Roschdy Zem) is capable of turning over a new leaf, Abel's protective streak kicks in, and so with the help of his best friend Clémence (a sensational Noémie Merlant), he begins tailing his new stepfather's movements. Their amateur sleuthing is quickly uncovered by Michel and triggers an unlikely - and bold - business proposition for them both. Few caper comedies have this much heart, and few romantic dramas offer such an appealingly nutty plot. Keeps you off-kilter, and its escalating antics always entertain. (Subtitles)

Back in 2002, Nia Vardalos’ ‘My Big Fat Greek Wedding’, based on her own upbringing and romantic life, went on an unprecedented box office run, climbing every week through sheer word of mouth to become the highest-grossing romantic comedy ever. The Portokalos family takes a trip to Greece for a reunion with their extended Greek family - the final wish of patriarch Gus, who has passed away. (The real-life actor who played Gus, Michael Constantine, passed in 2021). While Toula and Ian search for Gus' childhood friends, love blossoms between Aristotle and Paris (which is an unwelcome development to Paris, who had ghosted Aristotle before the trip), and Aunt Voula continues to be Aunt Voula, the most hilarious member of the Portokalos family.

The film follows two people who might be soulmates, even though they have never kissed and haven’t been in the same city for two decades. Writer-director Celine Song modulates perfectly the delicate tonal balance of this wise, wistful film, dividing her narrative into three distinct segments and following the characters when they’re roughly 12, 24 and 36 years old. There are three superb performances at the picture’s centre, but none is more radiant than that of Greta Lee, gracefully capturing the spirit of a searching soul who seems to understand things about the nuances of love that are beyond the grasp of the rest of us. ‘Past Lives’ is a film about time, missed opportunities and enduring connections, and with an outstanding critics’ score of 97% on Rotten Tomatoes. We are delighted to be one of the selected cinemas in the country to bring you Pedro Almodóvar’s short film ‘Strange Way of Life’ as a one-night-only special event.

After twenty-five years Silva (Pedro Pascal) rides a horse across the desert to visit his friend Sheriff Jake (Ethan Hawke). They celebrate the meeting, but the next morning Jake tells him that the reason for his trip is not to go down the memory lane of their friendship. It is the first time the two men have laid eyes (and much else) on each other for 25 years. After dinner together, during which Jake abandons his teetotalism and drinks wine, the two men’s feelings for each other become too intense to resist. The next morning, Silva asks to borrow a pair of Jake’s underpants. Almodóvar’s lovingly protracted shot of Jake’s pristine underwear drawer is an amusing fetish. This special one-night-only event will include the film (31m), alongside a pre-recorded Q&A (51m) with Pedro Almodóvar, exclusive to cinemas.
